Heart Reprise

by Jordan Macarus

/

about

This song was inspired by the title track of Jordan's last CD. Instead of piano and a band, this is solo acoustic; with a different lyrical perspective, using a counter melody from the original song as the primary melody in the Reprise. The Liberty Tree Guitar is a piece of American history: Made from a 400 year old poplar; the last standing of the Liberty Trees from the thirteen colonies.

lyrics

"Open your mind to the heart of the matter", the voice said to me: "Open your heart to the heart of it all." Open my mind to the heart of the matter. Open my heart to the heart of it all...

I wish I could wade in like it was water. I wish I could stay in mind of it all, for everyone. We are all waiting like it was water; to wash us clean, wash us now, bring us together somehow...

And everything I am; I am nothing without you. Are you the nothing, or the everything? - And are we all the same at the heart of the matter?

What does it feel like at the heart of the matter? What does it look like at the heart of it all? What does it look like at the heart of the matter? What does it feel like at the heart of it all?

It feels like;
What is good for one is good for everyone. No more waiting; we just dig in to the work to be done. No more waiting to cry for everyone. No more waiting to try for everyone. – And we grow just about everything we need right here in this town. We grow just about everything we need here, right now. We grow just about everything we need right here in this little town…
